
Kingston: The West Indies Cricket Board are to blame for the alarming attitude of the players involved president Dinanath Ramnarine country as one of the reasons that the reconciliation meeting between the out-of-favor open Chris Gayle and WICB Wednesday ended in a stalemate.
The West Indies Cricket Board, Ramnarine, in pushing the agenda of Gayle, WICB refused to believe that the player is a member of the Board to accept and that correspondence with him, must be direct, and not necessarily be representative organization, in this case WIPA.
"The meeting with Gayle ended in uncertainty, as Mr Ramnarine insisted that the WICB no business writing to the players, and that under no circumstances should the WICB letter to Gayle, or any player for that matter," the "Jamaica Star "quoted a press release from the WICB as saying.
"It's his (Ramnarine) believe that players are not employed by the WICB," it added.
The statement from the WICB further added that the remarks were inappropriate Gayle from a professional athlete and had a negative impact on relations with West Indies team management.
